
BACEF Scholarship Funding 2026
The Bangladesh Associations and Communities Education Fund (BACEF) is proud to present its 2027 scholarship initiative for incoming college freshmen. For half a century, the Bangladeshi-American community has contributed to the nation’s success with integrity. As we look to the future, we recognize our duty to influence public policy and civic life through principled leadership. Our goal is to empower a new generation of scholars who embody the rich heritage and bright future of our community. As an Illinois-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, BACEF provides annual grants to students showcasing academic brilliance and a drive for global citizenship. We encourage all qualifying students to apply and become the visionary leaders of tomorrow. The organization is dedicated to supporting higher education and fostering excellence among our youth.

Fund Overview
We are looking for college-bound men and women that are interested in shaping the direction of this nation and its policies, consistent with these time-honored values.
The Bangladeshi-American community is offering a scholarship to encourage students to develop their pathway to achieving their national aspirations as ambassadors and representatives of the Bangladeshi communities.


Current Objectives
We are committed to elevating future academic leaders and supporting creative thinkers who will serve global communities. At present, the Bangladesh Associations and Communities Education Fund (BACEF) is accepting applications for our grant program for incoming college freshmen beginning their four-year degrees in Fall 2027.
Expectations
It is hoped that in their careers, they will contribute to the development of local, state, and federal policies based on core values of honesty, integrity, fairness, compassion, and human rights for all (locally and globally).
It is hoped that winners of these scholarships will mentor and support other students and future winners.

2026 Program
Award Details
A grant of $10,000 for a four-year undergraduate study period, for a student starting in Fall 2027. To apply, candidates must submit complete documentation as outlined in the official application handout via email.

- Final Selection: Jan 31, 2027
Selection
Finalists undergo a comprehensive review by the Scholarship Committee. Decisions are based on academic excellence, leadership potential, and community impact.

Applicant Eligibility
How to Apply — Round 1
• U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident
• Completed Junior year of high school in the USA, in May 2026
• Will start College Freshman year in Fall 2027
Submit by email (PDF attachments) to bacef@baceducationfund.org between September 1–30, 2026. Include:
• The Application Form – 2026
• An Essay addressing three areas in separate sections: Biographical Narrative, Intended Field of Study & Motivation, and Pathway to Leadership & Public Service.
• Student's Curriculum Vitae
Award Structure
• A $10,000 scholarship is awarded to support one student's education at a 4-year college or university, starting in Fall 2027.
• Up to $5,000 (half) is reimbursed during the first academic year — while the winner remains in good academic standing — for tuition, required fees, and textbooks, upon submission of receipts.
• The remaining balance is paid upon successful completion of the first academic year, while remaining enrolled in good academic standing.
How to Apply — Round 2
(Invited Applicants Only)
• High School Junior year transcripts — emailed directly from the school.
• Letters of reference from two unrelated individuals named on the Application Form.

Invitations to selected applicants (Round 2): October 1–30, 2026
Finalist notifications & virtual interviews: To be determined
Winner announced: By January 31, 2027
Application Reviews
Using the information submitted by the applicant, the reviewers and Scholarship Committee will try to assess the candidate’s background, career goals, core values and their commitment to pursuing their pathway. The panel of reviewers includes individuals across the US, with decades of academic and/or professional experience.
